Viktor & Rolf Turn Heads with Eye-Catching topsy-turvy gowns at Paris Fashion Week
Paris Fashion Week has always been known for its trendsetting and boundary-pushing designs, but the latest collection from Viktor & Rolf has taken trends to a new level. The Dutch design duo sent models down the runway wearing topsy-turvy dresses that turned traditional fashion on its head. Let’s take a closer look at these unique pieces and how they change the fashion landscape.

The Inspiration Behind the Collection

Viktor & Rolf were inspired by the idea of turning everyday items upside-down. All garments were flipped inside and upside-down. One dress featured a skirt with a neckline at the back and sleeves on the wrong side.Models strutted the runway in multi-tiered dresses with flipped tulle princess gowns and other Spring/Summer 2023 designs.

One model walked with an entirely upside-down dress, the hemline hiding her face and her legs protruding from the sweetheart neckline. At the same time, other gowns were worn horizontally or on a diagonal, displaying neutral-colored corset undergarments. Each outfit defied gravity in the wacky display, which was an engineering marvel.

The Impact of this Collection

This collection created quite a stir in fashion circles due to its daring and creative design elements. It also highlighted how important it is for designers to push boundaries and experiment with different styles and shapes when creating clothing lines. Furthermore, this collection reinforces the idea that fashion is about self-expression and individual style—not conforming to traditional standards or trends.

Images from the show were quickly spread across social media, with people calling the idea “ insane” and “extraordinary.”

The event was also attended by several A-listers, such as pop superstar Doja Cat, who made the headlines in the fashion world earlier last week, at Schiaparelli’s show, in a dramatic look, with red body paint and 30,000 Swarovski crystals.
